Accreditation

Accreditation (Latin accredere = to believe) is defined as the formal recognition that a testing, inspection or certification body is authorized to carry out such testing, inspections and/or to issue certifications. AUVA, for example, is accredited for the inspection of certain types of personal protection Equipment. The Accreditation Act (AkkG) constitutes the legal basis for accreditations in Austria.
