Within the meaning of the Regulation relating to Blasting Operations (Sprengarbeitenverordnung, SprengV), blasting operations are not restricted to the activity of blowing up an object but also include the below-listed activities:

• Taking over, storing and transporting explosives (i.e. explosive materials and detonating devices)
• Producing charges and bursting these
• Producing and inspecting detonating devices
• Defusing and de-activating explosive charges
• Disposal of unexploded blasting charges
• Disposal of explosives and detonating devices;

Blasting operations may only be carried out by persons authorized to carry out blasting operations.
