The Regulation relating to the Protection of Construction Workers (Bauarbeiterschutzverordnung, BauV) imposes specific requirements for work done on temporary or mobile construction sites on which building and civil engineering work is done. In many cases, the Construction Work Coordination Act (Bauarbeitenkoordinationsgesetz, BauKG) also applies. Construction sites are not considered as places of employment: accordingly, the Regulation relating to Workplaces (Arbeitsstättenverordnung, AStV) does not apply (except for Section 46, Buildings and Workrooms on Construction Sites). Construction workers and field personnel have to be taken into account in calculating prevention time for a workplace.
