Emissions

The term emission generally refers to the release of (pollutant) substances, noise, energies and radiation into the environment. As a rule, emissions are a parameter of machines, plants and materials defined under standard conditions (by the manufacturer, which may also be used for the purpose of comparison (i.e. noise emission of a particular type of machine offered by different manufacturers). The criterion applied to determining the actual exposure of workers at a workstation are imissions which can be calculated on the basis of emissions but are not identical with these.
