Employers with a headcount of up to 50 may themselves act as safety experts (not as occupational medical specialists) provided that they have undergone the required safety and health protection training. If a company employs fewer than 25 persons, pursuant to 78b of the Labour Protection Act (ArbeitnehmerInnenschutzgesetz, ASchG), a two-week training course will suffice. Employers may, however, also rely on the preventive services offered (for free) by AUVA’s Prevention Centres.
