Mechanical (i.e. dust, chips, splinters), optical (i.e. UV or laser radiation), chemical or thermal influences may present hazards to the health of human eyes. With due regard for the type of strain, safety goggles or visors with filters may be used. If not only the eyes, but also the entire face are to be protected, alongside frame-glasses, densely closing form glasses, safety guards, protective hoods or protective shields can be worn. All eye protection devices must bear the EU marking and have been tested by an (accredited) testing institution.
