As a rule, night work is work done between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. However, some laws and collective agreements specify different times in individual cases. In the event that workers perform heavy work within the meaning of the Heavy Night Work Act (Nachtschwerarbeitergesetz, NSchG), they are entitled to additional breaks, longer holidays and financial compensation.
