The Regulation relating to Blasting Operations (Sprengarbeiten-verordnung, SprengV) of 2004 appertains to the Labour Protection Act (ArbeitnehmerInnenschutzgesetz, ASchG) and aims at ensuring the safety of workers carrying out blasting operations. The Regulation relating to Blasting Operations is sub-divided into six parts:
- Part One: General Provisions (governing persons authorized to carry out blasting operation and their assistants, risk evaluation and assessment; taking over, storing and transporting explosives, etc.)
- Part Two: The Production of Blasting Charges
- Part Three: Detonating Explosive Charges
- Part Four: Safety Precautions (danger zones, clearing of blasting operations, failure of explosive charges, finding explosives, disposal)
- Part Five: Special Types of Blasting Operations ( blasting of deep boreholes, under-water blasting, blasting avalanches or metals)
- Part Six: Transitional and Final Provisions
