Regulation relating to the Documentation of Risk Assessment at Work

The Regulation relating to the Documentation of Risk Assessment at Work (Verordnung über Sicherheit und Gesundheitsschutzdokumente , DOK-VO) of 1996 appurtenant to Section Five of the Labour Protection Act (ArbeitnehmerInnenschutzgesetz, ASchG) , describes the contents of such documents. It makes a distinction between the minimum data that a document invariably has to contain, i.e. the scope of the document, stating the persons who conduct the risk assessment at work and their assistants, and indicating the number of employees for whom the respective document is relevant, date of the initial assessment, hazards identified, measures defined and a description of the persons who will implement changes by a certain deadline, as well as any other relevant information that may be required. Such further information would refer to the mandatory aptitude and follow-up checks pursuant to the Regulation relating to Health Surveillance at Work (Verordnung über Gesundheitsüberwachung am Arbeitsplatz, VGÜ), restricted access, the duty to keep records of hazardous work substances or the inspection and checking of work equipment.
