The terms “triggering threshold” or “trigger value” refer to an exposure or measured value which, when exceeded, calls for taking health protection measures for the safety of workers. The triggering threshold is below the maximum permissible exposure. Example: trigger values in accordance with Section 4 of the Regulation relating to Noise and Vibrations (Verordnung für Lärm- und Vibrationsbelastung, VOLV).
