Working in Hot Environments

Working in hot environments describes the conditions defined below or even more adverse conditions in the environment of a work station:
  • Air temperature: 30° C
  • Relative air humidity: 50%
  • Air velocity: 0.1 m/sec


In the following cases, the term “working in hot environments” has to be considered especially:
  • When employing pregnant women, nursing mothers or young people
  • (Heavy) night work
  • If employers need to provide showers for workers in accordance with EU “Coreper” provisions.
