CE marking generally confirms compliance with a certain regulation of the manufacturer (i.e. the Regulation relating to Machinery Safety (Maschinen-Sicherheitsverordnung, MSV 2010) which represents a European uniform directive transposed into Austrian law in accordance with Article 95 of the EC Treaty. The CE marking confirms compliance with minimum legal requirements and does not refer to superior quality, a completed product test or standards that have been met. Please refer to the Essential Safety Requirements (Grundlegende Sicherheitsanforderungen, GSA) and/or the Conformity Assessment Procedure(s). As of January 1, 1995, every new machine placed on the market has had to bear the CE marking. New machines that do not bear the CE marking must not be placed on the market.
