In addition to the general obligation to co-ordinate work when several employers are involved, the Construction Site Coordination Act (Bauarbeitenkoordinationsgesetz, BauKG) imposes, amongst other duties, the obligation to appoint a construction site co-ordinator. The co-ordinator has to ensure, on site, the smooth co-operation of workers of different employers. In addition to the construction site co-ordinator, the Construction Work Co-ordination Act also provides for a planning co-ordinator who has to draw up the Safety and Health Plan during the planning phase.
