With the aid of evacuation plans, persons present at the workplace are to be enabled to leave the building rapidly and safely in the event of imminent danger (i.e. fire or explosion). Thanks to regular evacuation alarms and drills, the effectiveness of the evacuation plan can be tested, on the one hand, and a smooth evacuation operation can be assured in the event of actual danger.
