For the performance of certain activities which may give rise to occupational diseases, Section Five of the Labour Protection Act (ArbeitnehmerInnenschutzgesetz, ASchG) stipulates certain aptitude tests and follow-up examinations. In addition, employees have to be given the option to undergo certain voluntary examinations, i.e. in the case of VDU work.
