This Regulation (Kennzeichnungsverordnung, KennV) of 1997 Lockerprovides for signs (notices, safety colours, luminous, acoustic and verbal signs as well as hand signals) that are relevant for safety or health protection.
This Regulation contains provisions, in particular relating to:
Annex One illustrates the signs to be used (prohibition, warning, mandatory, emergency signs as well as information signs for the fire-fighting materials. Annex Two defines the meaning of safety colours, and Annex Three contains a graphic description of hand signals.
This Regulation contains provisions, in particular relating to:
- The features, spatial arrangement (i.e. visibility) and positioning of signs
- The cases in which information signs and safety colours have to be used and relevant requirements (Sections 2 and 3)
- The use of, and requirements made upon, luminous, acoustic, verbal signs as well as hand signals (Sections 4 to 6)
- Information and instructions for employees concerning the meaning of these signs and signals
